Adult Choir
The Sanctuary Choir leads our worship every Sunday morning with their love for singing. Their steady contributions to our worship services from September to June help to make worship the consistently spiritual and uplifting experience it is. We have four wonderful section leaders, Kristine Hart, Pamela Olsen, Richard Gillyard, and Mark Wilson, four singers with unique vocal and leadership gifts.
The choir rehearses every Wednesday evening from 8 to 9:30 PM in the upstairs Music Room, and again every Sunday morning at 9 AM in the Sanctuary to prepare for the 10 AM service.
They also sing for special services at Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. The choir has sung Bach, Handel, more recent classics, and much music in gospel and contemporary styles. A highlight for 2009 will be American composer Leonard Bernstein’s engaging masterpiece Chichester Psalms, which will be given on Music Sunday, June 21st at the worship service, accompanied by organ, harp, and percussion.
