Our major worship service includes the Sanctuary Choir. The music is eclectic and includes instrumentalists as well as vocalists and choirs. The high point is our offering of ourselves and our resources to God who has given us both. Prayers draw together our individual and communion concerns. Sermons are based on our faith and address contemporary concerns.

            1st Sunday of the month – Communion is served
            2nd Sunday of the month – Welcome New Members
            4th Sunday of the month – Baptism

August/September Worship

August 29: “Developing the Guest List” takes its title from Luke 14:1, 7-14. The Clinton wedding is over, but there are lots of celebrations coming up. Will we be invited? Who will we invite? The sacrament of baptism will also be celebrated.

September is a great time to start new habits or recommit to old ones. Sunday worship is a way to train our brains and our hearts. More than that, it is a way to be in touch with the Holy One who stretches our hearts and brains beyond anything we can imagine.

September is the concluding month of our emphasis on “Coming Together.” Still, it will always be one of our major goals for worship and for life. The following texts will shape our worship. Even when they don’t seem to connect, they intersect in our hearts and we dare to believe they make God’s heart merry!

Sunday, September 5: - “Working Together” Text: Luke 14:25-33. What a thrill to welcome Kelsey Boyea back as soloist. Kelsey was a part of our congregation when her dad, Mark, served as Assistant Minister. We will celebrate communion. We’ll share our shopping. How about bringing hearty and healthy food items - see the next column!.

Sunday, September 12: - “Caring Together” Text: Luke 16:1-13. The Sanctuary Choir returns! Hooray and hallelujah! We will recommit to our “Trust with Care” policy.

Sunday, September 19: - “Coming Together” Text: Luke 15. Special music will be provided by Jane Seaman. This will be the first Sunday for regular Learning Centers. Plan now to stay for the picnic which follows. If you haven’t had a tour of the buildings lately, today’s your day!

Sunday, September 26: - “Stretching Together” Text Luke 16:19-31. Come hear our extraordinary section leaders as they blend their voices, with a special welcome to William Amory, our new bass leader. The sacrament of baptism will be celebrated.

When we worship together,
The whole world becomes an “Alleluia!”
