At Union Congregational Church, children’s programming is designed to nurture spiritual curiosity and a sense of belonging within an inclusive, Christian community. “Children” are defined as age one through 5th grade.

Enjoy a night out, Union Cong has you covered.

Union Cong’s semi-annual Parents’ Night Out gives you the chance to drop off your kids, while you enjoy a date night or some well-deserved time to yourselves. We’ll feed them pizza, possibly have an open mic, and watch a movie. Drop off starts at 5:45pm and pick up no later than 8:45pm. All children at Parents’ Night Out must be potty trained.

We invite kids to start in worship in the sanctuary.  After the Message For All Ages, children have the option to go with their peers to Sunday School. We offer Sunday School for children from kindergarten up to 5th grade. Our Sunday School room is in another part of the church and is set-up as a one-room schoolhouse. It is operational during the program year (September through June).

We use a “Godly Play” approach, which is based upon the recognition that children have an innate sense of the presence of God. This approach uses story, wonder, and play to develop a child’s vocabulary to express their spirituality. Children return to the Assembly Room (where coffee hour fellowship takes place) after worship.

Childcare provided during worship for toddlers through preschool-aged children.

Children And Youth Choir

The Children And Youth Choir allows children to express themselves, be seen, and discover the joy of music and teamwork. Fun-filled, meaningful performances take place in song during Sunday worship once every two months, including the Children’s Pageant and Mother’s Day. The choir rehearses most Sundays for 30 minutes immediately following the worship service.
