Join The Montclair African American Clergy Association And Montclair Interfaith Clergy Association at Union Baptist Church (12 Midland Avenue, Montclair) for the 2026 Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. worship celebration entitled “A Legacy Of Hope: Raising A Standard” with guest preacher Rev. Dr. Obery Hendricks.
This year’s theme, “A Legacy of Hope: Raising a Standard,” calls our community to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy with renewed commitment and collective action. The service will feature keynote speaker, The Rev. Dr. Obery Hendricks, and will uplift Dr. King’s vision through inspiring words and music, encouraging meaningful engagement at the local level. 2026 marks the 60th Anniversary of Dr. King’s visit to Union Baptist Church, on September 11, 1966. A video will be presented to commemorate his time in Montclair and share the rich details of Dr. King’s activity. A youth group from the Essex County Donald M. Payne Sr. School of Technology has done the shooting and editorial work of the video.
