Sunday worship takes place at 10am in person at 176 Cooper Avenue in Montclair or livestreamed on our YouTube channel: Sunday Worship Livestream
On May 17th, the Union Congregational Church Sanctuary Choir will present a lessons-and-carols-style service titled Make Our Garden Grow. This program explores climate justice in three movements: the beauty of creation, our responsibility to protect and preserve it, and the consequences we face when we fail to do so. Featuring music by Joseph Haydn, Dan Forrest, Stephen Schwartz, Elaine Hagenberg, Matthew Culloton, and Leonard Bernstein, with guest soloist Annelie Fahlstedt.
Songs include:
- “Let There Be” from Schwartz’s Children of Eden
- “Achieved is the glorious work” from Haydn’s The Creation
- “This is My Father’s World” arranged by Elaine Hagenberg
- “Song of the Wanderer” by Dan Forrest
- “Famine Song” arranged by Matthew Culloton
- “Make Our Garden Grow” from Bernstein’s Candid
Enter the church through the main Sanctuary doors under the tower or through the accessible entrance through the Assembly Room at the top of the ramp on the left side of the church.
