Weddings at Union Congregational Church range from simple to
elaborate, from traditional to innovative. We are committed to
helping couples plan a service that reflects their desires and
expresses the uniqueness of their relationships.
Imagine beginning your married life inside a 100 year old stone church,
under soaring, timbered ceilings lit by iron chandeliers, and surrounded
by Tiffany stained glass windows.
Where all are welcome. We make no requirements of faith. If you are a same
gender couple, you are welcome. If you haven’t attended church in a
long time, you are welcome. If you are in love, you are welcome.
We would be honored to be part of your celebration.

The Assembly Hall is a bright, airy space with high ceilings and hardwood floors that create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. An open lounge area and overlook balcony add depth and character to the room. A commercial kitchen and private
suite offer convenience for catering and preparation, while the piano and built-in sound system allow the space to easily transform for wedding showers, rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, baby showers, and intimate wedding receptions.

As you plan your gathering, here are the key details to keep in mind.
Our Assembly Room holds up to 150 guests.
Events must conclude by 10pm out of respect for our neighbors.
Sound system included.
You are welcome to use the piano on-site. Musicians are not provided, but we may be able to make recommendations.
No open flames.
Your caterer must be fully insured. No self-catering/drop off.
If you plan to serve alcohol at your event, there must be a
serve-safe certified bartender onsite, and insurance must cover alcohol.
Proof of insurance, naming Union Congregational Church
as additional insured will be required.
Overtime for social events will be billed at $250/half hour.
Q: Do you provide an officiant?
A: If you need an officiant to perform your ceremony, we can help. One of our officiants may be available to plan and bless your union on your big day. Each will want to meet you, hear your ideas, and help you craft a meaningful ceremony.
Q: Can I bring my own officiant?
A: Yes! If you have someone in mind to perform the ceremony, we welcome guest ministers of any faith. As long as they are ordained or have theological training, it shouldn’t be a problem. Just ask our Wedding Coordinator about the details.
Q: Do you offer live music?
A: Yes. Our Wedding Coordinator can arrange for a pianist, organist or additional instrumentalists for your ceremony. Musician services will be an additional fee.
Q: We are an inter-faith/same gender couple who hasn’t attended
church services in a long time. Can we still get married here?
A: Yes! We are an Open and Affirming congregation and we make no requirements of belief for those who wish to marry in our sanctuary. We simply ask all couples to treat our place of worship with respect.
Q: Can we use a playlist of pre-recorded music for our ceremony?
A: Yes. As long as it’s tasteful, you can play classical, jazz, pop, calypso, zydeco, Tibetan chants, or any music that means something to you–it’s your wedding! Just give your Wedding Coordinator a list of the songs you’d like played
and we’ll arrange for an audio tech to hit the play button at all the right times.
Q: How many guests can your space accommodate?
A: The interior of the sanctuary can seat up to 350 guests, all on one level. The Assembly Room can accommodate events of up to 150 guests.
Q: Do you have a space for me and my bridal party/groomsmen to get ready?
A: Yes, we offer two large, comfortable spaces in separate areas of the building. You do not have to see each other before the ceremony if you don’t wish to.
