Pride Choir’s next free community concert for the community is titled “Bend Don’t Break.” It will take place on Saturday, June 7th at 7pm at Union Congregational Church at 176 Cooper Avenue in Montclair. A perfect concert for these times, “Bend Don’t Break” is a musical journey of determination, inspiration, resilience, and hope. The concert features the music of Tracy Chapman, Pentatonix, Sara Bareiles, and more. The concert is free for the community, and donations are graciously accepted. RSVP at pridechoirtickets.com
About the Pride Choir:
Pride Choir provides a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community in and around Montclair to gather, be celebrated, and make meaningful music together. Instilled with a culture of inclusion, Pride Choir fosters joy and belonging, celebrates diverse identities, and uplifts audiences with inspiring musical performances.
Pride Choir was co-founded by artistic director John David Whitener and producing director Kim Crabtree who launched the choir in August 2023. The project is 100% volunteer-driven. Pride Choir’s launch was supported by donations from Union Congregational Church members. The church and church members have continued to support the choir through through in-kind facility use and financial support.
About The Church/Parking/Entry:
Union Congregational Church is located in Montclair, New Jersey, at 176 Cooper Avenue (nearest major cross streets are Grove Street and Valley Road). There is street parking on Cooper Avenue. We have a small parking lot for seniors and those with limited mobility reached through a driveway to the left of the church. There are two accessible spots and a ramp on the left side of the building. Additional parking is available on neighboring streets.
