Empathy: What Can It Teach All of Us?
Men and women are invited to our “Kick-Off Women’s Breakfast” on Saturday September 20, at 9:00 am in the Assembly Room. Lisa Blankenship, member of our church since March of this year, will speak on “Why she has studied empathy and what it has taught her.” She serves as an associate professor of English at Baruch College at the City University of New York and has written and co-edited three books on empathy. In this interactive talk, she’ll share stories about her research on empathy, what got her started and has sustained her interest, what she’s learned, and what empathy has to offer our current challenges as a society.
This significant topic will be an important learning experience for all of us. We will have a sample book available and will have information about how to order.
Join us on Saturday, September 20 at 9:00 am for this timely topic, and a delicious breakfast. Gluten-free options will be available. The cost is $7.00 per person. Please RSVP to Karen Ermler, karen.ermler@gmail.com so that we can plan accordingly.
Guests are always welcome. Thanks!
